anterior ankle impingement â€‹

An impingement is the irritation of tendons or bursa (small fluid filled sacs that cushion the bone) caused by  these structures getting trapped between two bones.

An anterior ankle impingement is also called Footballer's ankle and it is when soft tissue is trapped between the tibia and talus bones in the foot.

LOOK OUT...

Symptoms like redness and bruising may appear different on different coloured skin.

Bruising can sometimes be an indication that something more sinister is going on internally; if in doubt, get it checked out!

A visual deformity in these examples is different to swelling.

"Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I hold you up with my victorious right hand."
