Myositis ossificans (MO) , also known as fibrodysplasia ossificans pogressiva, is when a bone or bone-like tissue grows where it is not supposed to.

LOOK OUT...

Symptoms like redness and bruising may appear different on different coloured skin. 

Bruising can sometimes be an indication that something more sinister is going on internally; if in doubt, get it checked out!

A visual deformity in these examples is different to swelling.
